Virgin Hotels Dallas turned a one-night stay into part of the itinerary. Inside, I found one of my favorite hotel room layouts yet, a rooftop Pool Club worth rearranging plans for, playful interiors, Funny Library Coffee Shop and a hotel that commits fully to its own point of view.

After a day on Lake Travis, I check into Hotel Van Zandt ready to slow down. Suite Juliet, Geraldine’s, and a lively rooftop pool make it tempting to cancel our plans. By morning, we’re exploring downtown Austin on foot, already wishing we had booked more time. This is a stay that leaves room for both the city and the quiet moments in between.

A three night New Year’s stay at Hotel AKA NoMad felt like stepping out of Midtown Manhattan’s rush and into a moody, warm refuge. Designed with quiet craft and cocoon quiet rooms, the terrace Empire State view, attentive door team, and a bath ritual anchored by Urban Apothecary London’s Oudh Geranium made the city feel softer and more present.
